Artist Statement
My artistic practice is rooted in painting as a living, active presence within space. I am interested in how a painting extends beyond its surface, how it relates to its surroundings, and how it is experienced emotionally.
Coming from a background in furniture design, I approach painting with a strong awareness of form, structure, and spatial relationships. I explore questions of perception, presence, and movement, using organic forms and abstract references to nature to translate inner states into a visual language. Rather than representing nature directly, I work with its rhythms, energies, and transformations. I am particularly interested in the dialogue that emerges between the work, the space it inhabits, and the viewer. I believe that our environment shapes our emotional states, and I understand painting as a subtle yet powerful element within it. Through layered compositions, flowing forms, and a reduced yet expressive palette, I create works that feel both grounded and in motion.
For me, painting is not only a visual experience, but also a form of nourishment for the soul.
